Fans heading
to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry for the band’s sell-out concert in May have been urged to pre-book car parking.
With over 39,000 people heading to the multi-purpose complex on Tuesday, May 29, concert goers have been warned there is limited car parking available on the main site.
Fans attending the Coldplay Stadium tour are also being urged to arrive early. Gates will open at 4pm. Bar 87 will be open pre and post concert from 12pm.
Anthony Mundy, facilities director at the Ricoh Stadium, urged fans to pre-book their parking and to arrive early to avoid getting caught up in traffic.
“Delays are possible on local roads as people head for the Ricoh Stadium, which is why people are being advised to arrive early in the afternoon,” he said.
“The residents’ parking scheme will be enforced within two kilometres of the Ricoh so parking in nearby streets won’t be allowed.
There are plenty of spaces available at the park and walk sites so there is no need for people to panic.
If fans could give some thought as to their journey it will help to ease the congestion on the local road network and anyone who normally passes the Ricoh is advised to plan an alternative route.
We are also advising people to be dropped off and collected in a new designated ‘Drop Off and Pick Up’ point in Arena Shopping Park car-park. We are strongly advising that people do not under any circumstances drop off or pick up on the A444 as it is so dangerous.”
The concert is expected to finish around
10.30pm.
